Yesterday, Paddington Square became a stage for Trustful Strangers Induce Fearless Walks, as artist Harold Offeh’s public artwork was brought to life through a powerful live performance by young people from The Showroom’s Imagining Futures programme.
Through poetry, spoken word and song, the performance extended the artwork beyond the billboard itself, celebrating the voices, creativity and imagination of the young people who helped shape its creation.

Great Western Developments is delighted to announce that Paddington Square has been shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2026 - the UK’s highest accolade for architectural excellence.
Designed by world renowned @rpbw_architects , Paddington Square has transformed the area directly outside Paddington Station - providing a new world-class welcome to London for the millions of people arriving into the capital.
The mixed-use development features offices, retail and leading food and drink brands, including Europe’s first opening for Ce La Vi the global rooftop restaurant and bar specialists @celavi.london - located at the top of Paddington Square, CÉ LA VI offers remarkable 360-degree views over London and beyond.
Being shortlisted for the Stirling Prize marks an important milestone for a project built on ambition, design excellence and a vision for a more vibrant and connected city.
Paddington Square is one of six buildings nominated for the Prize. The winner will be announced on 15 October 2026.

Commissioned by Great Western Developments and curated by The Showroom in partnership with LACUNA, Trustful Strangers Induce Fearless Walks has grown from a series of workshops and conversations between Harold Offeh and the young collaborators. Together, they explored ideas of public space, community and trust through collage, role-play, writing and discussion, reflecting on what it means to share a city with strangers and how everyday spaces can foster communities of care.
For one evening only, the artwork will extend beyond the billboard itself in a live performance of poetry, spoken word and song, celebrating the creativity, voices and perspectives of the young people whose ideas helped shape this powerful new commission.
